JetBlue Vacations and WeatherPromise Launch Industry-First ‘Great Weather Guarantee’ for Jamaica Packages

03/03/2026

Included at no additional cost, customers receive $500 if it rains more than promised during their trip

DANIA BEACH, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– JetBlue Vacations (Nasdaq: JBLU), in collaboration with the Jamaica Tourist Board and WeatherPromise, today announced a first-of-its-kind “Great Weather Guarantee” for Jamaica vacation packages. The new destination-specific offering gives customers $500 back if it rains more than promised during their trip, at no additional cost.

JetBlue Vacations was the first airline vacation brand to partner with WeatherPromise in 2025, introducing rain protection for Flight + Hotel packages. With the launch of the Great Weather Guarantee in Jamaica, JetBlue Vacations becomes the first in the industry to integrate a destination-based weather guarantee directly into a vacation package.

From March 1–May 31, 2026, eligible Jamaica Flight + Hotel packages* will include the Great Weather Guarantee built directly into the booking, which continuously monitors weather conditions using advanced data analytics, satellite imagery and radar technology. If rainfall exceeds the unique threshold set for each trip, customers will receive $500. If the conditions are met, customers are notified and can quickly select how they would like to receive the $500 payout. After booking a Jamaica Flight + Hotel package through JetBlue Vacations, customers receive a personalized dashboard outlining their coverage details and what conditions would activate a payout from WeatherPromise.

Jamaica remains one of the Caribbean’s most sought-after destinations, celebrated for its white-sand beaches, world-renowned music, rich culinary traditions, and welcoming hospitality that captivates travelers from around the globe. While brief tropical showers are common across the region, this new guarantee provides added confidence for travelers planning their island getaway.

“JetBlue Vacations has always focused on removing friction from the travel experience,” said Jamie Perry, President at Paisly, the company that powers JetBlue Vacations. “We were proud to be WeatherPromise’s first airline vacation partner last year, and with this Jamaica-specific guarantee, we’re continuing to lead the industry. Customers can book knowing that if the weather doesn’t meet expectations, they’re covered.”

In Montego Bay, known for its thriving nightlife and luxurious resorts, travelers can also access JetBlue Vacations’ exclusive Insider Experience program, offering exclusive perks like free airport transfers worth up to $50, arrival meet & greet and 24/7 support from a local insider.

“Jamaica is a destination of rich culture and warm hospitality,” said Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, Jamaica. “The Great Weather Guarantee allows travelers to fully embrace everything our island has to offer with added confidence. We are proud to collaborate with JetBlue Vacations and WeatherPromise to help visitors create unforgettable memories across Jamaica’s unique landscapes and vibrant communities.”

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with JetBlue Vacations through this exciting new program,” said Daniel Price, Co-Founder of WeatherPromise. “WeatherPromise is designed to give customers greater confidence to travel and experience new places. This collaboration allows us to bring that sense of reassurance to even more people as they visit one of the Caribbean’s truly iconic destinations.”

The Great Weather Guarantee is included on new Jamaica vacation package bookings of 3–16 nights made between March 1 and May 31, 2026, for travel through December 1, 2026. Travel must begin at least seven days after booking to qualify.

In addition, JetBlue Vacations is offering a limited-time spring promotion of up to $500 off Flight + Hotel packages sitewide, including Jamaica. Customers can save $25 off $750 with code HELLOSPRING25, $300 off $4,000 with code HELLOSPRING300, or $500 off $7,000 with code HELLOSPRING500. Expedia 2026 Air Hacks: Friday Takes Off as the New Cheapest Day to Depart and Book

Today, Expedia® released its 2026 Air Hacks Report, revealing a major shift in traveler savings: Friday, has become the cheapest day of the week to fly and book, driven by reduced business travel at the end of the week. The report shows that August is the most affordable month to travel, with international destinations, Honduras, Morelia and Tokyo, seeing some of the biggest fare drops.

Now in its tenth year, the Expedia Air Hacks Report draws on millions of Expedia data points and new consumer research to highlight how changing traveler behaviors, from extreme daytrips to carry‑on‑only packing, are reshaping when Americans choose to take to the skies.

A Closer Look at Southwest’s New Gate Experience and Boarding Process

Southwest’s transition from open seating to an assigned seating model is almost here, bringing several changes across our operation. As we near this major milestone on January 27, we’re sharing more details on how assigned seating reshapes two key areas: our gate experience and boarding process.

Gate Area Experience: New Lanes for Line Up

Beginning January 27, Southwest will no longer use numbered metal stanchions (silver columns) for boarding lines. Instead, we’ll have two alternating boarding lanes with digital screen displays (at gates where screens already exist today) that show which group is boarding. We’ll also have a separate Preboarding and Priority Boarding area for active-duty military, Customers who purchase the new Priority Boarding product (available beginning 24 hours before departure for flights starting January 27), and Customers who need to preboard.

Gate areas will be converted in a phased approach, beginning the evening of January 26. It will take approximately 60 days to remove the numbered stanchions from all airports. The stanchions that are not removed overnight on January 26 will have their numbers removed or covered so they are not visible by the morning of January 27, when assigned seating begins.

The New Boarding Process, Optimized for Assigned Seating

As we’ve previously shared, Southwest is transitioning from A/B/C boarding groups to Groups 1-8. The goal of this change is to maintain an efficient and orderly boarding approach that’s optimized for assigned seating, prioritizing Customers into boarding groups based on seat location, beginning with Extra Legroom seats in boarding Groups 1 and 2. Customers with premium fares and our most loyal travelers will both enjoy access to preferential seats and earlier boarding.

Below are the boarding process details:

  • Priority Boarding is available for purchase starting 24 hours before departure, when available.
  • Newly designed boarding passes will show seat assignment and boarding group.
  • Certain Passengers needing special accommodations will be able to self-identify digitally prior to their day of travel, with special service requests (SSRs)—like wheelchair assistance—visible on their boarding pass.
  • Everyone on the same reservation of nine or less Customers, including families, will be assigned to the same boarding group.
  • Our eight boarding groups will be based on seat location, fare type purchased, tier status, and Rapid Rewards® Credit Card benefits. Fare, tier, and Cardmember boarding benefits will extend to up to eight Passengers on the same reservation. Companion Pass holders and their Companions will receive the highest applicable boarding benefit based on their individual status.
    • Groups 1-2: A-List Preferred, Choice Extra fare, Extra Legroom seat purchase or upgrade (including A-List Members who upgrade at no additional cost to ELR seats within 48 hours prior to departure, when available)
    • Groups 3-5: A-List and Choice Preferred fare, plus Rapid Rewards® Credit Cardmembers who did not receive an earlier boarding group will also board in Group 5
    • Groups 6-8: Choice fare and Basic fare who did not receive an earlier boarding group

United led major carriers in on-time ORD arrivals in 2025; travelers on the next largest competitor at ORD were nearly twice as likely to have their flight cancelled as United customers

Customer experience at ORD includes access to five United Club locations, in addition to a redesigned United Polaris Lounge, as well as a growing number of aircraft with seatback screens, larger overhead bins, Bluetooth connectivity and free Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members

To support the airline’s growth and continued focus on operational excellence, United plans to hire approximately 2,500 more people at ORD before the end of the year

CHICAGO, Jan. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — United today announced it will reach 750 flights per day this summer from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), 200 more than its next largest competitor and the largest schedule ever flown by any airline operating here.

Throughout 2026, Chicago’s hometown airline will offer nonstop service to 222 destinations – more than any other airline at ORD, and 38 more than its next largest competitor – including 47 international cities across Europe, Asia and South America as well as 175 U.S. destinations. Starting as early as April, and on sale January 29, the airline is strengthening connectivity across the Midwest with five new routes from ORD to cities including:

  • Champaign/Urbana, Ill. (CMI) operated 4 times daily beginning April 30, 2026
  • Kalamazoo, Mich. (AZO) operated 4 times daily beginning April 30, 2026

  • La Crosse, Wis. (LSE) operated 4 times daily beginning May 7, 2026
  • Bloomington/Normal, Ill. (BMI) operated 4 times daily beginning May 7, 2026

In late 2025, the airline also announced it would add flights to cities such as Santa Barbara, Calif. (SBA); Monterey, Calif. (MRY); Eugene, Ore. (EUG); Bristol/Tri-Cities, Tenn. (TRI), Erie, Penn. (ERI); Rochester, Minn. (RST); Wausau, Wis. (CWA); Marquette, Mich. (MQT), and more as part of its summer 2026 schedule.

In addition to enhancing connections between ORD and small and midsized communities, more than 80 cities will receive additional flights to give customers even more options from Chicago including popular travel destinations like Boston (BOS), Nashville (BNA), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) and Dallas (DFW). United’s Chicago hub is expected to become the third largest hub operated by any airline in the U.S., and the airline’s summer schedule reinforces ORD’s role as the premier hub of the Midwest and a top global gateway following record passenger levels in 2025.

“We have spent the past decade building and executing a strategy that is focused on winning brand loyal customers by giving them more value when they fly United – and nowhere is that more apparent than in Chicago,” said United’s Vice President of ORD, Omar Idris. “This growth at O’Hare highlights our commitment to invest in our network, customers and hiring in the city we call home.”

United will also operate from ORD to Guadalajara, Mexico (GDL) daily from June 8 to June 27, providing service for large international soccer games. With this add, United will have non-stop service from Chicago to all 16 cities hosting large international soccer games in 2026.

“Illinois sits at the crossroads of global travel and commerce, with O’Hare Airport opening doors and opportunities for people across the country and around the world,” said Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. “The record-breaking expanded flight offerings from United Airlines planned for this coming summer at O’Hare demonstrates the company’s sustained commitment to growth in Illinois – boosting our economy, supporting jobs, and strengthening Chicago’s tourism and hospitality industries.”

United continues to focus on running a great operation at ORD – the airline led major carriers in on-time arrival in 2025 and last year, travelers on the next largest competitor at ORD were nearly twice as likely to have their flight cancelled as United customers. United averaged 541 daily departures from ORD in 2025, 31% more than the next largest competitor and flew more seats from Chicago than at any point in the last two decades.

To support the airline’s continued focus on operational excellence, United plans to hire another approximately 2,500 people at ORD before the end of the year.

ORD customers can expect a best-in-class experience with access to five United ClubSM locations, in addition to a redesigned United Polaris® lounge, as well as a growing number of aircraft with seatback screens, larger overhead bins, Bluetooth connectivity and free Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus® members. The airline plans to fly more than 370 daily mainline departures during its summer schedule – a 20% increase from summer 2025.

Upleveling the Customer Experience

United invests heavily in creating a seamless, modern travel experience for customers, including a suite of technology enhancements that make every step of the journey easier, such as:

  • Connection Saver: In 2025, Connection Saver saved approximately one million potential missed connections, a 42% increase over 2024, including helping 240,000 passengers make their flight in Chicago. New app features offer customized turn-by-turn directions to connecting gates with estimated walk times, real-time flight status updates, tips for longer layovers, and notifications if United is holding a plane during a tight connection.
  • StarlinkStarlink brings seamless, gate-to-gate connectivity. In less than a year, United has equipped more than 300 aircraft with Starlink, the world’s fastest, most reliable Wi-Fi in the sky and is rolling out the service to its mainline feet. In January, 33% of departures at ORD were on a Starlink-equipped plane.
  • Bag drop shortcutUnited travelers can skip the check-in line and drop off bags in under a minute at the designated bag drop shortcut location at the curb by checking bags in the app before arriving at the airport. And now, United is the only airline to offer bag drop shortcut with TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID, allowing ORD travelers who opt-in to drop off their bags in seconds by leveraging facial scanning technology. In 2025 at ORD, 1.25 million passengers dropped bags at Bag Drop Shortcut.
  • Facial Scanning Security: United offers customers at ORD the ability to use TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID to seamlessly drop off bags or make it through security in seconds. Since launching TSA PreCheck Touchless ID at ORD in 2024, more than 2.8 million customers have opted in to use the technology.
  • United mobile appDelivers a wealth of local, valuable traveler information including Chicago-specific flight and bag tracking updates, intuitive ORD navigation with turn-by-turn directions from mode of transportation to the airport through to the gate, real-time United Club capacity levels and guidance on the closest club to departure gate, rideshare options, live weather data and much more.

United Customers Can Now Order Fresh, United Economy Meals Before Their Flight

January 14, 2026

Burgers, sandwiches, snack boxes and more available for purchase on united.com and the mobile app

United Economy® meal preorders available on flights over 1,190 miles across North America and the Caribbean

CHICAGO, Jan. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — United customers can now order fresh, United Economy meals like burgers and sandwiches before their flight through the airline’s website and mobile app. This change prioritizes giving customers more choice and ensuring they get the meals they want, while also helping the airline’s catering operation run more efficiently and supporting efforts to reduce food waste.

United Economy meal preorders are available on flights over 1,190 miles within the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, and starting March 1, preorders will be the only way to purchase fresh entrees for customers traveling in the Economy cabin. United Economy will still offer its signature snack boxes, packaged snacks and beverages for purchase onboard.

In addition to ensuring customers get the meals they want and improving catering efficiency, enabling customers to preorder meals is expected to help United’s food-waste reduction efforts by helping minimize unconsumed fresh retail items. This approach is anticipated to keep more than 100,000 pounds of unused food out of landfills each year.

United expects to add additional fresh meal choices to the preorder menu this summer that include elevated salads, gourmet sandwiches and wraps, with expanded preorder exclusive premium beverage options planned for later this year.

United first introduced preorder in the United app for premium cabins in 2021 and saw customer satisfaction scores for domestic flights increase by almost 40%.

“We’re continuing to invest in meaningful improvements to our onboard food and beverage program, with a focus on quality, consistency and customer choice,” said Aaron McMillan, Managing Director of Hospitality Programs at United. “Preordering is a win for everyone – customers board the plane knowing they’ll get the meal they want*, our catering partners know exactly how much food to prepare for each flight and it helps our operation run even more smoothly and reduce food waste.”

Customers can preorder both fresh Bistro on Board and retail items in advance through the mobile app or on united.com, beginning five days and up to 24 hours before departure. Customers can browse the available options within the online Trips section, and United app users will receive a notification when preordering opens for their flight. In addition to signature snack boxes, the January menu includes a variety of fresh and flavorful options including the Steakhouse Burger, Tacos Al Pastor, Fresh Cheese & Fruit Tray, Everything Bagel Dots and more. The Era of YOU: Booking.com Predicts the Top Trends Defining Travel in 2026, With Individuality Taking Center Stage
The 10th edition of Booking.com’s Travel Predictions reveals that travelers in 2026 are embracing ultra-personalized journeys that reflect their quirks, goals, and passions

Booking.com Modern Milestone Moments _ GettyImages-1444443250

AMSTERDAM, 15 OCTOBER 2025 – Travel has always been personal, but in 2026 it will move far beyond one-size-fits-all itineraries. In 2026, travelers will reject conventions and lean into passions that feel distinctive and truly their own. From adrenaline-fueled compatibility tests to mystical detours and stays in futuristic homes, every trip becomes a bold expression of individuality and identity: this is who I am, this is what I want, and this is what I love

Now in its tenth year, Booking.com’s Travel Predictions spotlight how people want to experience the world. Over the years, these insights have revealed shifts in travel, from Cool-cationers chasing cooler climates given extreme heat to Conscious Travelers reshaping destination choices through social and environmental awareness. Looking ahead to 2026, the research shows travelers are eager to let their true selves shine, quirks and all, with technology playing a major role in making it possible for travelers to experience ultra-personalized trips with the people who understand them best.

Based on insights from more than 29,000 travelers across 33 countries and territories, Booking.com is using this research alongside its unique position as an industry leader in travel and technology to uncover ten defining trends for 2026. The findings reveal that vacations are becoming more individual, more experimental, and more unapologetically true to who travelers really are.

Booking.com Romantasy Retreats _ Tuscany_Region_910-006

Romantasy Retreats: Escaping Into Enchanted Worlds

For centuries, books have been travel companions, carried in suitcases and read on trains, planes, beaches, and beyond. In 2026, with genres like romantasy exploding in popularity, the relationship between stories and journeys enters a new chapter as travelers step not just into novels, but into the fantasy worlds of dragons, fairies, and other mythical creatures.

Expect to see vacations become immersive storyscapes in the year ahead, where enchanted castles, mystical forests, medieval banquets, and masquerade balls set the stage for otherworldly romantasy retreats, with more than seven in ten (71%) global travelers saying they’d potentially be interested in visiting a destination inspired by romantasy. For many, this goes far beyond sightseeing. Over half (53%) are open to taking part in a role-play retreat based on their favorite fantasy game, book or film, with nearly a quarter (23%) saying they are definitely interested in making this part of their future travel plans.

Technology is turning the page of this new escapism, with nearly eight in ten travelers (78%) open to AI-powered suggestions that match fantasy aesthetics, recommend secluded “storybook” stays, or pinpoint real-world filming locations. No longer confined to fiction, fantasy will become a travel blueprint, offering enchanted escapes where imagination and adventure become the protagonists.

Booking.com Humanoid Homes _ GettyImages-2169994882

Humanoid Homes: The Future of Vacation Rentals

Vacation homes have long been prized for space and privacy, but 2026 will see an evolution into something far more futuristic: homes enhanced by humanoid helpers. Imagine checking into a vacation home where a cleaning bot takes care of the mess, a robotic chef whips up dinner (and does the dishes), and smart systems quietly optimize water, energy, and waste in the background.

Travelers are ready to embrace this next frontier of comfort-meets-curiosity, with 77% open to booking a robotic-enhanced home. Practical perks lead the way as nearly half of those interested (49%) say cleaning bots would sway their booking choice, while 39% are most excited about a robotic chef, and a quarter (25%) want robots managing sustainability behind the scenes.

But it’s not just about convenience. For many, it’s the novelty (28%) or even the bragging rights (19%) of staying in a home that feels straight out of science fiction. These “humanoid homes” blur the line between practicality and play, redefining the vacation rental experience and setting the stage for stays that feel both comfortable and truly unforgettable.

Booking.com Turbulence Test _ GettyImages-1159440683

Turbulence Test: Love, Friendship, and Teamwork on Trial

Vacations aren’t just for recharging, in 2026 they will become the ultimate compatibility check as many travelers plan to use time away to test the strength of their relationships: romantic, platonic or even professional. More than two-thirds (69%) of global travelers are open to taking a trip with a potential partner, colleague or new friend specifically to see how well they click, with the ways travelers are testing relationships as creative as they are revealing.

Nearly two-thirds (62%) would consider traveling to a remote location to see how their companion handles ambiguity and discomfort. Another 59% are intrigued by role-reversal retreats, where the usual planner hands over control or the introvert takes the lead, and an equal 59% would embrace travel with severe constraints, such as budget limits, language barriers, or limited connectivity. Meanwhile, many (71%) would take the backseat themselves to see if their travel partner steps up to plan the trip.

These turbulence tests highlight a shift in how people approach vacations: not just as escapes, but as immersive ways to understand compatibility, adaptability, and teamwork. Gen Z travelers are the most experimental of all, with 81% open to custom itineraries designed to simulate real-life dynamics and test connections in ways that will either soar or stall.

Booking.com Shelf-ie Souvenirs _ 919_Barcelona_009

Shelf-ie Souvenirs: Turning Kitchen Shelves into Cultural Showcases

In 2026, the humble kitchen cupboard is becoming a cultural canvas, filled with travel souvenirs that reflect personal taste, design flair and a story of place. These shelf-ie souvenirs are moving from fridge magnets to pantry shelves, with travelers increasingly seeking edible and design-led treasures that turn everyday kitchens into showcases of global culture.

More than two-thirds of travelers (68%) say they would consider buying design-led kitchenware or pantry items on vacation, from hand-painted spice jars to tins of artisan olive oil that double as décor, with more than half (55%) saying they would even consider traveling to a destination specifically known for its pantry products or kitchenware.

This shift is as much about meaning as aesthetics. More than a quarter (26%) say edible souvenirs help them relive a destination each time they cook, while 25% value how these items showcase local craft, sustainability, and traditional methods. For others, exclusivity and style play a role, with nearly one in five (17%) choosing destinations for rare souvenirs, limited-edition cookware, or packaging that looks as good on a shelf as it does on social media.

Booking.com Roadtrip Rewired _ GettyImages-200018235-002 (1)

Roadtrip Rewired: Embracing Shared Journeys on the Open Road

The classic road trip is shifting gears in 2026, moving beyond family and friend convoys to embrace spontaneity and discovery, including new companions along the way. The journey itself is no longer just about the drive, rather a space for connection and memorable experiences with fellow adventurers, with 84% of travelers open to carpooling on vacation and more than half (54%) willing to use an app to find travelers on a similar route.

The appeal is clear. Travelers are drawn to road trips that make travel more spontaneous and flexible (79%), lets them meet new people (77%), and allows them to share driving responsibilities (76%). For non-drivers especially, carpooling and autonomous vehicles transform previously inaccessible routes into shared adventures, expanding a sense of freedom.

Younger generations are leading the way, with 77% of Gen Z open to using self-drive vehicles or AI to shape their routes, compared with just 36% of Boomers. Technology continues to unlock new possibilities in other ways on the road as well, with 65% of global travelers saying they would use AI or generative AI to map scenic, off-the-beaten-track routes tailored to their trip desires. The combination of technology and social opportunity is redefining what a road trip can be: part exploration, part community, and entirely personal.

Booking.com Destined-ations _ GettyImages-575451503

Destined-ations: Travel Written in the Stars

In 2026, the stars won’t just inform horoscopes and star signs, they will shape travel plans. From moon phases to astrology, mystical practices will become a new compass to guide travel decisions, turning vacations into journeys that feel spiritually aligned and cosmically approved.

Almost half of travelers (47%) say they would consider changing or cancelling their plans if a spiritual advisor or guide suggested it was not the right time, while 43% would reconsider trips based on a horoscope warning, and 39% would adjust if Mercury was in retrograde.

Beyond these cosmic course corrections, many travelers actively seek experiences that align with mystical or astrological cues. Nearly four in ten (39%) say they consider such influences when planning vacations, from timing trips with moon phases or solstices to visiting energy-rich sites. Gen Z (53%) and nearly half of millennials (46%) are particularly attuned to this sense of spiritual exploration, proving that for younger generations, the path to self-discovery might just be written in the stars.

Booking.com Glow-cation _ GettyImages-1319784595

Glow-cations: Skincare Specific Travel, Driven by Tech

Wellness travel will get a serious glow-up in 2026 with nearly 80% of travelers open to booking a dedicated glow-cation featuring multiple skin-specific treatments tailored to their personal skincare needs. What used to be simple spa escapes are transforming into high-tech (nearly six in ten travelers (59%) saying they would consider using AI to identify destinations aligned with their personal skin needs), high-touch journeys centered on the body’s largest organ: the skin.

The appetite for personalization runs deeper than ever, with nearly three quarters (72%) open to personalized hydration stations that adapt to local climate and activity, while 64% are intrigued by smart mirrors analyzing pores and hydration to provide real-time skincare advice. Sleep optimization is also central, with 75% interested in enhancement suites designed with circadian lighting and soundscapes to improve rest, a vital factor in skin repair and regeneration.

From ancient thermal rituals to cutting-edge DNA and microbiome testing, glow-cations mark a new era of skin specific wellness travel, where the goal is not just to recharge, but to return home visibly renewed.

Booking.com Hushed Hobbies _ GettyImages-1281145421

Hushed Hobbies: Quiet Pursuits for a Louder Sense of Calm

Silence will be golden in 2026, as travelers look to swap the noise of daily life and distractions of an overstimulating world for the soothing stillness of nature to restore their sense of calm. With 43% of travelers saying they would vacation specifically to feel closer to the natural world and one in four (25%) turning to “quieter” hobbies on vacation, travelers will be seeking restorative rituals that prioritize patience, reflection and stress relief.

From insect spotting and birdwatching to fishing and foraging, travelers are increasingly interested in pastimes that invite a deeper connection and close observation with an outdoor space. Over half (57%) say they would consider moth/butterfly watching or insect spotting, 73% fishing or birdwatching and 69% staying at a hotel where they are involved with foraging in local nature and wilderness hotspots for their meals, with these activities offering a way to connect more deeply with their surroundings. Even in this quest for quiet, technology has a subtle role to play as an enabler, from apps that identify butterflies and birds in real time to AI tools that suggest trails, habitats or seasonal migration patterns.

By slowing down and letting nature take the lead, travelers are redefining what it means to recharge by finding clarity not in doing more, but in embracing less.

Booking.com PastPorts _ GettyImages-1198618591

PastPorts: Where Memories Become Destinations

In 2026, nostalgia will no longer be something we leave in the past, it will become something we can step back into, with technology making it possible. With AI-powered photo mapping and heritage-tracing platforms, memories can transform into maps and old snapshots into future trip itineraries as travelers pinpoint the exact spot where a moment once happened, and stand in it.

For many, these trips are deeply emotional, rooted in the desire to relive meaningful moments and share them with others. Two-thirds of global travelers (66%) say they would consider recreating a memory or photo by using technology to identify the exact location it was taken, and then traveling there. Nearly half of these travelers (49%) say their main motivation would be to revisit a memory with family or close friends, while 46% are drawn to destinations that make them feel young, connected or at home. More than a third (36%) even see these journeys as milestones, whether to reflect on personal growth, reconnect with people from the past, or even gain closure by returning to places tied to difficult memories.

What makes this movement new is how technology fuels the timeless human urge to remember. Beyond nostalgia, travelers are using innovation to trace ancestral roots, bond across generations through storytelling, or even recreate photos for sharing in ways that feel both timeless and new.

Modern Milestone Missions: Travel That Celebrates YOU

Travelers in 2026 will rewrite the rule rulebook on when and why. No longer reserved for weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries or having a baby, today’s milestones are deeply personal as societal norms continue to shift and evolve. Two-thirds (67%) of travelers say they don’t need a reason to book a trip, while one in five (21%) say they’d go to a dream destination without waiting for a “traditional” milestone to make it worthy.

This new wave of modern milestone missions highlights how travelers are embracing personal achievements on their own terms and using travel as a way of celebrating their individuality. Nearly three-quarters (75%) justify booking a vacation simply because they’ve worked hard and deserve it, while new reasons to book a trip are rising to the forefront: toasting a new job or promotion (24%), receiving a surprise tax refund (16%), marking the closure of a breakup (14%), and showing off a new outfit (9%). Health and wellbeing achievements are also emerging as powerful motivators, with one in five (22%) traveling to mark milestones like sobriety or fitness transformations.

At its core, modern milestone missions are about traveling for whatever brings you joy, celebrates individuality and lets you be unapologetically you.

James Waters, Chief Business Officer at Booking.com comments: “In 2026, travel is becoming a reflection of who people truly are, with journeys built around interests that perhaps in the past felt too niche or bold to explore. Travelers are stress-testing relationships, stepping into fantasy worlds, turning their kitchens into reflections of their journeys, and looking at new ways to experience road trips and vacation rentals with enhanced technology features. At Booking.com, we’re continuously evolving to make it easier for everyone to experience the world and fully lean into their dream trips by offering more choice, flexibility, and convenience than ever before.”

Unlock holiday ease: 5 ways the Delta app can save you time at the airport this season

Taking to the skies this holiday season? Whether you’re a seasoned road warrior or an every-now-and-then adventurer, Delta’s app helps you stay informed and in control throughout your journey. With digital time-savers like interactive airport maps and self-service standby options, the app is your ultimate travel companion –this holiday, and every day. That’s why more than 97% of SkyMiles Medallion Members use the app to manage their day-of travel experience.

Whatever your travel profile, discover how the app can help you breeze through the airport and focus on what matters most: enjoying your journey.

  1. Checking a bag? Use App Bag Drop to save time in the lobby.

Delta’s App Bag Drop – now in ATL, BOS, JFK, DTW, LAX, MSP and SEA– is a game-changer for customers who want to save time and skip lines at the airport.

If you’ve checked in and added your bags via the app, you can use a dedicated App Bag Drop lane to quickly print your bag tag and drop off your luggage, bypassing the main queue. That means shorter lines, faster check-in and more time to relax before your flight.

Plus: Did you know you can redeem miles toward checked bags? Use miles to cover fees for standard checked bags on flights originating from select U.S. airports by selecting “Pay with Miles” during check-in through the app.

These self-service bag drop lanes are rolling out to remaining Delta hubs by end of year, bringing the gift of efficiency to even more app users systemwide.

2. Upload your travel documents to the app before you get to the airport.

Make flying overseas a breeze by uploading your passport and other essential documents to the app before you reach the airport. With everything securely stored in the app, check-in is faster and more convenient; no more searching for paperwork at the counter.

NEW! Starting in December, SkyMiles® Members can scan and store their passport to their SkyMiles Member Profile in the app. Scan just once and have your passport available in your profile for all future international trips. (Just remember to always bring your physical passport with you!)

Three app screens showing passport scan prompt, personal details form, and confirmation message.

Plus, you can now add and edit your Known Traveler Number (KTN) directly in the app, making it simple to update your information and ensure you’re set for expedited security screening.

3. Navigate the airport like a pro.

Find your pre-flight comfort drink quickly with the app. Use interactive maps at major airports to find gates, lounges and amenities quickly. Find airport maps on your app boarding pass.

4. Plan your Delta Sky Club® visit

In airports with more than one Delta Sky Club, customers with Club access can strategically plan their visit with the app’s occupancy tracker. With a quick glance, you can see how busy each lounge is – helping you plan your visit and choose the best location for a relaxing break. Tap “Delta Sky Club” section in the app to see real-time occupancy levels (updated every 10 minutes) for your Club of choice.

Did you know? Delta Concierge, Delta’s AI-powered travel assistant in the app exclusively for SkyMiles Members, is currently in beta testing and will continue with phased rollout in 2026. Read more on Delta Concierge here.

5. If plans change, stay flexible with self-service standby through the app.

Travel plans don’t always go as expected—but luckily, the app’s self-service standby feature puts flexibility at your fingertips.

If you’re impacted by a delay or cancellation, you can list yourself for standby on an earlier domestic flight directly in the app (even if Delta has already rebooked you). No need to wait in line or call customer service—this  digital option lets you view available flights, join the standby list and track your status in real time, helping you reach your destination sooner when seats open up.*

*Listing on standby is only available for nonstop, domestic flights.

Download the app ahead of your holiday getaway and tap into a better journey.

Where Contemporary Luxury Meets Mexico’s Coastal Soul: Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol Opens its Doors

The brand’s first Park Hyatt hotel in Mexico debuts in Los Cabos, offering modern Mexican architecture, oceanfront culinary experiences, and wellness rooted in the elemental landscape of Baja

“Where warmth, serenity, and the spirit of Baja come together in perfect harmony.

– Sordo Madaleno

CHICAGO (December 15, 2025) – Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) and RLH Properties today announced the official debut of Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol, the first Park Hyatt branded hotel in Mexico, as a welcomed addition to Hyatt’s luxury portfolio brand footprint in one of the world’s most beloved beach destinations. Set along a pristine stretch of coastline within the private Cabo del Sol community, this new resort brings the contemporary luxury of the Park Hyatt brand to the easygoing spirit of Baja California Sur.

Design as a Sanctuary – Guestrooms, Suites & Villas

Thoughtfully brought to life by Mexico’s leading architecture and interior design powerhouses, Sordo Madaleno and Paulina Morán, alongside acclaimed firm, George Wong Design, with the concept design by Yabu Pushelburg, Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol embodies design as a sanctuary, expressing a modern vision of Mexican architecture and a deep connection to the land and sea. The resort’s architecture and layout are intentionally oriented toward the coastline, ensuring constant, unobstructed ocean views throughout the guest journey. Natural materials, sun-washed palettes, and nuanced textures create a calm, residential atmosphere where interiors feel both protective and open, and where every space encourages an effortless flow between indoor serenity and the restorative embrace of a spacious outdoor terrace.

“Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is inspired by the natural duality that defines Los Cabos: land and sea, openness and refuge, light and shadow – a sanctuary that provides a home away from home where warmth, serenity, and the spirit of Baja come together in perfect harmony,” said Sordo Madaleno lead architect.

Sordo Madaleno drew inspiration from historic elements of Mexican architecture and a contemporary reinterpretation of courtyards, arcades, water features, and timber structures, reimagining them through a timeless language to create spaces that engage with the environment and elevate the sensory experience of the guests.

This approach extends into the 163 guestrooms and 88 suites that range from 452 to 1,254 square feet in scale. Each room offers ocean or resort views that invite guests to pause and take in the surrounding beauty. Private terraces or patios, deep soaking tubs, and walk-in showers establish a personal refuge of comfort and quiet, while select accommodations with private plunge pools deepen the sense of seclusion. Among the resort’s distinctive sanctuaries are its three ocean-view private villas – ideal for families and multi-generational stays. These include two-bedroom villas with 1,995 square feet indoors and a 1,575-square-foot patio with a private pool, as well as a Presidential three-bedroom villa offering 3,202 square feet indoors, a 3,131-square-foot terrace, and a private lap pool. Each suite and villa is accompanied by a resort ambassador and features full kitchens and generous living areas – creating a home-like retreat where elevated design meets profound ease.

For those dreaming of making their stay permanent, Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol extends beyond a stay to those who call it home. A collection of 11 villas and eight apartments are available for purchase in four- to six-bedroom configurations to embody the brand’s modern approach to coastal luxury. Fully turnkey and furnished, each residence highlights biophilic design principles and locally sourced materials such as hand-finished stone, native woods and custom furnishings that honor Mexican craftsmanship. These elements come together to create private havens where architecture, nature, and daily living exist in harmonious balance.

“Being a part of the opening of the first Park Hyatt property in Mexico here in Cabo del Sol is an honorable moment for our team,” said Adam Zilber, General Manager, Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol. “In a destination celebrated for its natural beauty and cultural richness, we invite guests to slow down, be present, and feel truly taken care of as they experience Baja with meaning and intention—through architecture inspired by the desert and sea, cuisine rooted in local tradition, collaborations with local Mexican artisans and the modern elegance that defines the Park Hyatt experience.”

“The debut of Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is a keystone moment in RLH Properties’ disciplined strategy to redefine ultra-luxury hospitality in Mexico” said Luis Duran, CEO of RLH Properties. “By selectively integrating this world-class asset, we are cementing our role as the visionary stewards of Los Cabos’ most coveted stretch of coastline, driving enduring value for our stakeholders and setting a new benchmark for excellence.”

Elevated Dining Defined by Vision and Craft – Culinary

The resort opens with a distinct collection of dining venues and experiences, including Costamar, a refined beach club serving coastal fare and handcrafted cocktails for lunch, pool, and beach service, with sweeping views of the Sea of Cortéz; Mesa Madre, a soulful Mexican restaurant rooted in the comfort of abuela’s home-cooking and the joy of gathering with loved ones; and Dátil Coffee Shop, an all-day café serving artisanal coffee from Mexico and house-made pastries and baked goods.

Leading the culinary vision at Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is Executive Chef Miguel Gomez, whose expertise shapes each restaurant’s menu, telling a story through flavor, heritage, and setting:

  • Mesa Madre pays tribute to the abuela figure of Mexican and Latin American kitchens. Open throughout the day, the restaurant offers a welcoming space to gather, serving dishes that evolve with the hours of the sun and highlight the diversity and warmth of Mexico’s culinary traditions.
  • Costamar Beach Club delivers a toes-in-the-sand, coastal California-inspired dining experience – with expansive ocean views, the menu includes antojitos, small plates and signature cocktails, showcasing seafood and seasonal flavors. The bar transitions seamlessly from day to evening, creating a relaxed yet lively atmosphere.

The restaurant will offer an evening experience complete with a private wine cellar featuring Old World labels and a cocktail program.

Wellness Inspired by the Elements – Araya Spa

Wellness plays a central role at the resort, beginning with a 59,000-square-foot fitness and wellness center, one of the largest in the region. Guests can enjoy a dedicated yoga studio, a beachside lap pool, and a 24-hour expertly designed fitness facility.

Expected to open in Q1 2026, Araya Spa will be a holistic oasis where its menu is shaped by thoughtful personalization, reflecting the calm, restorative pace of Baja California Sur. Each treatment is named for the intention it is designed to evoke, offering guests an intuitive way to choose the experience that aligns with how they wish to unwind, reset or restore. Whether seeking Inner Calm, a gentle invitation to pause and breathe; Release, a therapeutic journey that eases deep tension or Soothe, a hot-stone massage that improves circulation and quiets the mind, experiences pair tailored aromatherapy with intentional techniques.

A highlight is the Sunrise Ritual, a 120-minute face and body experience designed to awaken the senses just as the sun rises over the horizon. This treatment begins with a sea salt exfoliation to stimulate circulation, followed by a mineral-rich red clay wrap and an invigorating massage that restores natural vitality. A hydrating facial completes the journey, leaving guests renewed and radiant.

Araya Spa will also feature Araya Salon, for elevated beauty and grooming with treatments that nourish and rejuvenate from head to toe. Highlights include the Araya Hand and Feet Ritual, featuring natural ingredients like avocado, lime, agave and mint, alongside manicures, pedicures and express polish services. The salon also provides a menu of personalized hair care, including professional haircuts and blowouts as well as occasion styling.

A Destination for Celebrations and Connection – Meetings & Events

Additional outdoor venues include the oceanfront Terraza del Mar, spanning 3,283 square feet, and the expansive Costamar Events Lawn, offering 8,000 square feet of space for elevated gatherings.

These new seats will be installed on all new Southwest aircraft deliveries, and we will be retrofitting a few of our current  -800s with RECARO seats later this year.

Booking.com

October 15, 2025

Booking.com’s annual Travel Predictions research* reveals that in 2026, travelers are designing trips as unique as they are– curating journeys that reflect exactly who they are, what they want, and what they love. Whether open to traveling with a potential romantic partner, co-worker or new friend to test their compatibility (69%), using technology to locate and visit spots tied to personal memories (66%) or chasing the cosmic rhythm of a trip aligning with their horoscope (39%), 2026 marks the rise of trips that are more individual, more experimental, and more unapologetically true to who travelers really are. Along with its annual Predictions, Booking.com, one of the world’s leading travel platforms, has delved into its data insights** to uncover the Trending Destinations set to become must-visit vacation spots in 2026. These destinations, too, are about embracing what lights travelers up, from fishing villages turned coastal gems to reimagined industrial hubs offering visitors the buzz of city life.

Mũi NéVietnam

On Vietnam’s sun-kissed southeast coast, Mũi Né offers a dreamy blend of natural beauty, local culture, and adventure. What was once a quiet fishing village has now transformed into a laid-back beach escape known for its golden sands, swaying coconut palms, and consistent ocean breezes that make it a mecca for kite surfing and wind sports. Just a four-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City, Mũi Né feels worlds away with its unique landscapes ranging from the surreal Red and White Sand Dunes to the peaceful Fairy Stream where travelers can wade through shallow waters surrounded by striking rock formations. Ideal for the 40% who are looking to visit a travel destination inspired by fantasy landscapes fit for the pages of a book, as this year’s Travel Predictions research reveals the rise in Romantasy Retreats. Along the coast, beach shacks serve up fresh seafood, including grilled scallops and spicy lemongrass clams, while nearby fishing ports offer glimpses of traditional Vietnamese life. Beyond the beaches, a low-key mix of local markets, ancient temples, and coastal villages allow visitors to absorb a richer slice of Vietnam.

Where to stay: Nestled along a private stretch of beachfront, the Sailing Club Resort Mũi Né is an ideal coastal boutique retreat with tropical gardens and a relaxed, elegant vibe. With just 31 rooms, bungalows, and villas, the resort blends contemporary comfort with Vietnamese design touches. Guests can unwind by the beachfront pool, enjoy fresh seafood at Sandals Restaurant, or take advantage of kite surfing lessons right from the resort’s doorstep.

BilbaoSpain

Once an industrial hub, Bilbao has transformed into one of Europe’s most exciting cultural destinations, famed for its striking architecture and world-class art. The iconic Guggenheim Museum anchors a shimmering riverside, symbolizing the city’s modern, unapologetic transformation alongside the natural beauty of the surrounding Basque hills. Bilbao’s compact old town, or Casco Viejo, charms visitors with its narrow medieval streets, bustling pintxos bars, and street markets. The Met to Showcase One of Art History’s Greatest Figures, Italian Renaissance Genius Raphael, in First Major International Loan Exhibition in the U.S.

(New York, August 26, 2025)—Raphael: Sublime Poetry, on view March 29 to June 28, 2026, at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, will be the first comprehensive, international loan exhibition in the United States on Raphael (Raffaello di Giovanni Santi; 1483–1520), considered one of the greatest artists of all time. This landmark exhibition will explore the full breadth of his life and career, from his origins in Urbino to his prolific years in Florence, where he began to emerge as a peer to Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, to his final decade at the papal court in Rome. Bringing together more than 200 of Raphael’s most important drawings, paintings, tapestries, and decorative arts from public and private collections around the world, the exhibition will offer a fresh perspective on this defining figure of the Italian Renaissance, presenting his renowned masterpieces alongside rarely seen treasures to reveal an extraordinarily creative mind.

The presenting sponsor of the exhibition is Morgan Stanley.

Major funding is provided by Kenneth C. Griffin and Griffin Catalyst, and Jessie and Charles Price.

Significant support is provided by the Richard Riney Family Foundation, the Ing Foundation, and Anthony W. and Lulu C. Wang.

Additional support is provided by Julie and David Tobey, Barbara A. Wolfe, Gilbert and Ildiko Butler, Dinah Seiver and Thomas E. Foster, and Ann M. Spruill and Daniel H. Cantwell.

“This unprecedented exhibition will offer a groundbreaking look at the brilliance and legacy of Raphael, a true titan of the Italian Renaissance,” said Max Hollein, The Met’s Marina Kellen French Director and Chief Executive Officer. “Visitors will have an exceptionally rare opportunity to experience the breathtaking range of his creative genius through some of the artist’s most iconic and seldom loaned works from around the globe—many never before shown together.”

Among the highlights will be The Virgin and Child with Infant Saint John the Baptist in a Landscape (The Alba Madonna) from the National Gallery of Art, one of the most emblematic examples of Raphael’s mastery over High Renaissance ideals of harmony and classical beauty, which will be united with his preparatory drawings from the Museum of Fine Arts, Lille, and Portrait of Baldassarre Castiglione, now in the Louvre, widely regarded as one of the greatest portraits of the High Renaissance.

Lenders include the Accademia Carrara (Bergamo), Albertina (Vienna), Ashmolean Museum (Oxford), British Museum (London), Galleria Borghese (Rome), Gallerie Nazionali Barberini Corsini (Rome), The Duke of Devonshire and Trustees of the Chatsworth Settlement (Chatsworth), Galleria Nazionale delle Marche (Urbino), Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria (Perugia), Kupferstichkabinett (Berlin), Louvre (Paris), Fondazione Brescia Musei (Brescia), National Gallery (London), National Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C.), Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte, Palais des Beaux-Arts (Lille), Patrimonio Nacional de España (Madrid), Pinacoteca Comunale of Città di Castello, Pinacoteca Nazionale (Bologna), Prado (Madrid), Städel Museum (Frankfurt), Szépmüvészeti Múzeum (Budapest), Gallerie degli Uffizi (Florence), and the Vatican Museums, among others.

“The seven-year journey of putting together this exhibition has been an extraordinary chance to reframe my understanding of this monumental artist,” said Carmen Bambach, the Marica F. and Jan T. Vilcek Curator in The Met’s Department of Drawings and Prints. “It is a thrilling opportunity to engage with his unique artistic personality through the visual power, intellectual depth, and tenderness of his imagery.

Though he lived a mere 37 years, Raphael achieved such profound success as a painter, designer, and architect that he was regarded as the pinnacle of artistic perfection for centuries after his death. The son of a painter and poet, Raphael engaged with the foremost writers and thinkers of his age in Rome, displaying a poetic sensibility that captivated his peers and generations that followed. Matching ambition with lyricism, he created works with both intellectual heft and emotional depth, a necessary skill in the complex political landscape of Renaissance courts.

The exhibition will unfold roughly chronologically, tracing Raphael’s life and career, with thematic sections focused on the development of his ideas and imagery. Recent scientific discoveries will also be incorporated. By featuring drawings in relationship to paintings and works in other media, the presentation will demonstrate Raphael’s prodigious versatility and creative process. The figural compositions in his paintings, drawings, tapestry designs, and prints reveal him to be an unparalleled storyteller, and this exhibition will pay particular attention to his portrayal of women—from his pioneering use of nude female models to his sensitive portrayals of the Madonna and Child.

The exhibition is featured on The Met website, as well as on social media using the hashtag #MetRaphael.
